Does anyone take Midrin, if so has anyone had any reactions to it? I've tried Amerge, Imitrex, zomig, Maxalt mlt and I really am getting frustrated!! Right now I'm going to my Md, what do I look for when I'm looking for a neuro? I live in Dayton, Ohio if anyone close goes to a good neuro!! My doctor also gave me a lecture on You can become addicted to med's is why I'm not perscribing anything to really relieve the pain (Hello,I understand that you can become addicted but I'm in pain buddy and he isn't helping me) He also has me on verapamil,and elavil aspreventative's. Help someone!!

I was on Midrin for a very long time, then my doctor prescribed Fioricet for me and when I wake up with a really bad one, I take two and I am able to go
back to sleep usually within the hour. I am to see him on the 29th to discuss my meds. Migranes make me sick to my stomach and that halo of light around my vision hurts if I go outside in the light. When I get the halo I know I am doomed for a couple of days.
I also get the halo something bad , I've had it olmost had it all week. My doctor had me on Fioricet they helped with my rebound headaches. But I just can't keep anything down when I have a good ole whoooping migraine!! Does the midrin give you any side affects??
i took midrin for abo8ut a year and it did wonders now it does squat i am sure i built a tolerance to it so now i jsut go with icepacks and hope for teh best

Same here. Fioricet replaced the Midren they had no effect after awhile. I tried the nose spry and no results. Last week I was in my third day of halo headaches and they gave me a shot it worked but I could not go back to work because it put me out. All I really want is something that will dull the pain and at least let me keep working. I barf alot when I get the halo's

Auras sometime's gives you a different vision which just resembles a halo!! I feel like I have a new head 2day.. Tracy
Sorry to be posting so much, I reckon I go in spurts. But, maybe somebody could answer this for me. I wrote in a post just a minute ago that I didn't have auras but my vision does change when I have, or am getting, a migraine. It becomes a bit blurry, kind of hard to explain now as I don't have a migraine today.Could blurred vision be an aura? I am very nearsided and wear contacts but the bluriness is abnormal.

Last night I had a #9 headache so I broke down & went to the ER to see a neuro. All they did was give me a shot of demerol & phernergian! Ahhh It
took awhile for it to work, and a2nd shot but finally I have aclear head today!! The neuro said that my family doc was really doing what they would do for me trying different combo's of med's. Hope your halo is bette.

Yes it is my aura. I have always called it a halo but you are correct when you say aura. Sorry I rub you the wrong way, but when your sick, your sick
